Therapeutic Massage

The style of massage offered at my practice is tailored to each person’s individual needs. I draw from assisted stretching, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage and trigger point therapy techniques. Massage therapy sessions are 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Pre-Natal Massage

Out of respect and honor of all mothers, my practice provides Pre-Natal massage services. Many changes occur in the body during a woman’s time of pregnancy. These changes affect hormonal levels, posture and weight and as a result discomfort and emotional stresses can arise. Prenatal massage uses special positioning and techniques to alleviate pain, tension and create overall relaxation for mothers-to-be. Post-Natal care is also available to help support a mother’s time of transition post pregnancy. Pre/Post Natal sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes in length.

Assisted Stretching

Stretching techniques are incorporated in a massage to help increase range of motion, improve mobility and lengthen muscle fibers and connective tissue. This overall can facilitate the creation optimal joint health. Assisted stretching can consist of the client passively receiving the stretch, while the practitioner initiates the movement or where the client initiates the stretch, while the practitioner helps perform the movement.

Deep Tissue Massage

This form of massage is reflected in its name by primarily focusing on the sub-layers of the body’s musculature and fascia. When these sub-layers become tight the body creates holding patterns and as a result tension, pain and restricted movement occur. Deep tissue massage is the application of slow, deep strokes that release holding patterns and tension by relaxing and lengthening these layers of musculature in the body.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most common and well-known forms of massage therapy in the US. A combination of techniques, including (but not limited to) gliding, kneading, tapping and percussion, are performed with the use of oil to manipulate soft tissues in the body which stimulates circulation and helps promote relaxation. This is a great service to help you unwind and get in touch with your body’s needs.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are small, tight bands of muscle or connective tissue that can create local or referred pain throughout the body when pressed upon. Deep manual techniques and assisted stretching are used to release these areas and restore integrity within the tissue. This form of massage therapy encourages client/practitioner communication in order to best locate and relieve areas of discomfort.

Foam Roller Sessions

Foam rollers are self-care tools that you can use to enhance the work you receive in session with me as well as help you stop pain cycles from reoccurring before your next session. During our time together, you will have an opportunity to work one on one with me and learn how to use the foam roller safely and effectively. By the time the session ends, you will have an individualized self care routine to incorporate into your daily or weekly routine. Foam roller sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes in length.
