Myofascial Release

Fascia embeds every tissue in our body, down to the tiniest cell. It’s considered the “tissue of consciousness” and can store old forms of physical, mental and/or emotional trauma until it’s released. Since the fascia is a system that conducts its way throughout the whole body, a restriction in one area can affect the tissues in another; creating unhealthy holding patterns and overall decreased mobility in the physical and energetic bodies. Fascia, in it’s healthy state, can lend itself to uninhibited, expansive, efficient and liquid-like movement.

When the fascia and surrounding connective tissue are tight, posture and range of motion become compromised and pain is a result. Without the use of oil, slow stretching techniques are used to lengthen and release these restrictions.  The specific approach I study and work with is Myofascial Release (MFR), as created and taught by John F Barnes.

Foam rollers, therapy balls, self-guided movement and stretches are all self-care tools that you can use to enhance the work you receive in session with me, as well as, help you stop pain cycles from reoccurring before your next session.

During our time together, you will have an opportunity to work one on one with me and learn how to use these tools safely and effectively. By the time the session ends, you will have an individualized self care routine to incorporate into your daily or weekly routine.

You have the option for a mini tune-up session that’s 15 minutes, a 30 minute or 60 minute session.  Any of these can take place in person or online via Zoom.
